Rachel Loko’s own career is a testament to the impact of international experience. From London to New York, from Paris to the interior of Africa, Loko’s decade of service has focused on assisting the global poor, helping young people in their own professional pursuits, and researching cutting edge issues of market integrity.
Growing up, Rachel Loko was blessed with several opportunities that impacted her professional and personal development and trajectory - now, she strives to share the impacts of these experiences with others. She excelled as a student at the University of Paris V, where she graduated with honors with a Masters Degree. Upon graduating, Loko traveled to the United States, where she completed her training before heading to New York to work as an associate at Shearman & Sterling LLC before eventually relocating to Washington, DC.
Among her many professional achievements is Rachel Loko’s role in helping to establish one of the first offices of the famed Grameen Bank Foundation in Uganda, assisting a range of clients on contractual and other issues concerning how to deploy technology in ways to assist the most undeserved. The experiences inspired her to double down on her international outlook and bring her talents to diverse fields spanning the intersection of finance, investment, and capital formation.
In addition to her legal work, Rachel Loko has volunteered her time in a range of pursuits, serving as a mentor for university students seeking experience and opportunities in international affairs and finance. She has also lectured extensively in the process, and has delivered a range of university lectures covering microfinance, credit rating agencies and the ISDA Master Agreement.
Today, Rachel Loko brings her expertise to bear on a range of matters including derivatives, investment management, and securities matters, and continues to remain abreast of the latest changes in international and economic development.
Rachel Loko has neonative fluency in both French and English and can converse in Spanish. An intrepid learner of new things, she spends her free time traveling, and catching up on the latest in leisure and international politics.
